Jessica Reid MSc

Project Manager

Jessica Reid is a Project Manager with the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. Jessica manages the International Tobacco Control (ITC) Youth Tobacco and Vaping Surveys, and is also the lead author for the Tobacco Use in Canada report series. Previous work includes various tobacco-related projects (particularly cigarette packaging and health warnings), as well as e-cigarettes, energy drinks, and food-related behaviours.

Christine White MSc

Project Manager

Christine White is a Project Manager with the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. Christine manages the International Food Policy Study, which evaluates the impact of national-level food policies in multiple countries. She has also worked on research involving menu labelling in restaurants, caffeinated energy drinks, promotional activities for electronic cigarettes, and cigarette packaging.

Vicki Rynard is a Data Analyst with the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. Vicki has an MSc in Statistics specializing in biostatistics. Elle completed her PhD in Public Health & Health Systems at the University of Waterloo in 2021, and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowhsip with the School of Public Health Sciences and the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction in 2021-22. Her interests lie in drug policy at a population level, with a particular focus on the changing cannabis legislation in Canada. Katherine East PhD Postdoctoral Fellow

Katie is a Society for the Study of Addiction (SSA) Griffith Edwards Academic Fellow working on projects relating to nicotine and tobacco product perceptions and use, with a focus on youth and young adults. Katie’s Fellowship is primarily based at King’s College London (England) but also involves collaboration with the University of Waterloo. Katie completed her PhD in Addiction Sciences from King’s College London in 2019 (“Social norms towards smoking and vaping: are they associated with smoking and vaping behaviours and policies across countries?“).

Adèle Corkum MSc

Adèle completed her MSc in 2022 in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. Prior to that, she graduated from UPEI with a BSc Honours in Foods and Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship to become a Registered Dietitian in 2019. Her interests lie in examining the role of nutrition-focused policies and programs in chronic disease prevention, food security, and overall health. Lana Vanderlee PhD Post-Doctoral Fellow

Lana Vanderlee completed her PhD in the School of Public Health & Health Systems at the University of Waterloo in 2016, and completed a CIHR Banting Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto. As a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Lana conducted research in the area of diet and nutrition, helping to lead the International Food Policy Study. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Université Laval.
